Ravelin Defense was formed through the union of ArmorWorks Enterprises Inc. and Fox Valley Metal Tech LLC- two well-established defense manufacturers whose combined capabilities deliver integrated survivability and precision manufacturing solutions to the warfighters, prime contractors, and defense community that require full-service solutions.
ArmorWorks built its reputation over three decades as a trusted developer of survivability solutions for the U.S. military and its global partners. Specializing in advanced armor systems, crew protection, and blast mitigation, ArmorWorks has protected warfighters across land, sea, and air platforms on some of the most demanding programs in the U.S. defense industrial base.
Fox Valley Metal Tech brought an equally critical strength: precision metal fabrication and complex structural manufacturing for the Navy's most consequential shipbuilding and naval weapons programs. With an AS9100D-certified operation and deep program incumbency across platforms including the Columbia-class submarine, Ford-class carrier, and Arleigh Burke destroyer, Fox Valley earned a reputation for exacting quality, reliable delivery, and sustained performance over long program lifecycles.
Together, these companies represent something the market has not previously had access to in a single supplier: protection and survivability expertise combined with advanced manufacturing precision - across every domain where the modern warfighter operates.
The word Ravelin (RAV-eh-lin) comes from a specific term in military fortification architecture. A ravelin is a triangular outwork: a forward defensive structure designed to provide layered protection across multiple vectors of threat. It does not stand alone. It extends the reach of a larger defensive system, absorbs threat before it reaches the wall, and holds its position under pressure.
Our three-point mark is not arbitrary. It reflects the three domains - Land, Sea, and Air -across which we protect and enable the warfighters. It also reflects two legacies companies becoming one - a stronger partner serving your defense and survivability needs.

Ravelin Defense operates as an agile, scalable prime, delivering the engineering depth, manufacturing scale, and program management rigor of a large prime contractor, combined with the responsiveness, relationship quality, and operational agility that only a dedicated and more agile partner can provide.
At a large contractor, you are a line item. At Ravelin Defense, you are a valued partner we've built our business around. Our customers get a single strategic partner who can design, engineer, manufacture, integrate, and support survivability and mission-critical solutions across the full lifecycle of a program - without the overhead, bureaucracy, or divided attention that comes with scale for its own sake.
